  • Students will match the emotion associated with a visual representation 
CDA Competency Standard: ​
II.9.3a 
Candidate promotes children’s sense of belonging in the classroom community.
                a)Encourages children’s social interactions.
Materials: 
  • Small action figures, figurines, etc.
  • Feelings and Emotions Printable (click here)
Procedure: 
  1. Have students work in teams of two to sort figurines by their emotions.
  2. Ask guiding questions about the emotions that they can see based on body language, facial expressions, etc. 
Assessment: 
  • Assess the cooperation and social interactions that you witness between students.
